Janie Not-So-Long Hair

I'm getting back to sewing. Blood, sweat, and tears will follow. I am so sure.

Things that make you go...

Not "Hmmm" this time. This time it's something that made me cry my eyes out. I was driving to the store when this song came on the radio. I was holding it together until Sting got to the Sun setting. You know, time running out and all that.

Here's the lyrics:

Youll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
Youll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in the fields of gold

So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
Well forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in the fields of gold

See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that Ive broken
But I swear in the days still left
Well walk in the fields of gold
Well walk in the fields of gold

Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
Youll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in the fields of gold
When we walked in the fields of gold
When we walked in the fields of gold

I said to myself, "I SERIOUSLY need to get out the house more often."

Uncle John

For those that knew him or remember seeing him at events...

Uncle John died today. It's too early to know an exact cause, but his heart looks to have been the problem. His oldest brother and his mother were present when his heart stopped.

Uncle John had been at the VA hospital for a few days, after some complication following gastro-intestinal procedure on last Wednesday. The doctors had become concerned about John's heart and were monitoring him. Uncle Billy and Grandma had finished lunch and decided to drop in to visit Uncle John.

If anyone local to him needs to know funeral arrangements, email me. I will not publish such details. After Granny's funeral someone attempted to burgle the dead lady's house. Far too much of that goes on these days. Jerks. Just email me.
